Basic deficits are inflexibility, and a low frustration level.
The inflexibility is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain which causes a breakdown in the nerve cell responses. Some areas affected may be arousal/ relax, wake/sleep cycles, body temperature, sensory responses, and thinking skills such as rapid recall and problem solving.  See The Explosive Child, by Ross Green,Ph.D
